First it was a retention war and now it's a connection war. Recently most of the major Usenet providers have dramatically increased their connection limits. Last month Giganews announced that it would up their connection limit to 50. Soon after Power Usenet announced it too would up their connection limit to 20-50, depending on the service plan. NewsHosting soon followed and now allows up to 60 connections with their NHXL service and 30 connections for their other plans.
We can only wonder what else the major Usenet providers have up their sleeves. One thing is certain however, we're loving the war among providers; it can only end up giving the costumer more for less. Perhaps next we'll see price war? We can only hope.
